Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for residents in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Demonstrates nursing principles for residents in the clinical setting, performs testing to evaluate status, administers medications or treatments as ordered, documents resident interactions and outcomes, and supports an interdisciplinary care team. Communicates clearly, maintains confidentiality, counsels residents and family members on prevention and treatment plans, and contributes to developing self-care programs for residents. Role emphasizes health, comfort, and safety of residents, with shifts on days (6am–2:30pm), 40 hours per week, and includes every other weekend and rotating holidays. Eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits and includes shift differentials on weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Possess an active LPN license with state nursing board and/or multi-state licensure privileges
- Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
- IV therapy/management skills requirement in North Dakota may apply for ND location: graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
- Attended pre-licensure nursing program with supervised clinical experience across lifespan or minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
- Maintains required department specific competencies and certifications, completes annual continuing education and competency training
