Job Summary
Prepare patients and clinical equipment for examinations and procedures, then administer prescribed medications and treatments while monitoring responses. Collect vital signs, medical histories, and relevant patient information to support diagnosis and treatment plans. Provide education on medication usage, wound care, lifestyle modifications, and preventive health measures. Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and coordinate patient flow through appointment scheduling and referral management. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols to maintain a clean, safe clinical environment. Requires current LPN license, BLS certification, and one year of clinical experience in a family practice or outpatient setting.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of employment within the United States
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience
- Strong understanding of nursing principles
- Strong understanding of patient care standards
- Strong understanding of medical terminology
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in a family clinic or primary care environment
- Additional certifications such as IV therapy, phlebotomy, or wound care
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare software
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and support diverse patient populations
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
