Job Summary
As an LPN at Octapharma Plasma, you will perform medical evaluations for plasma donors, determining donor suitability in consultation with physicians, providing emergency care, and ensuring compliance with medical criteria. This role requires strong character and integrity, along with excellent customer service skills and the ability to educate and counsel donors. Key responsibilities include reviewing medical histories, maintaining communication logs, and managing emergency situations while ensuring confidentiality. The position requires an active LPN license, CPR certification, and excellent organizational skills to succeed in a busy medical environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized healthcare educational program
- Current licensure as an LPN specific to the location of employment
- Current certification in CPR
- Ability to educate donors, staff, and community regarding the plasma donation program
- Excellent patient/donor assessment skills
- Basic computer proficiency; Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
- Willingness and ability to maintain confidentiality of all personnel and center information
- Willingness and ability to work on weekends
- Demonstrate consistency and reliability
Desired Qualifications
- Blood bank or plasma center experience highly preferred
- One or more years of hospital, field care, or plasma center experience preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must possess a current license issued by the state where the donor center is located
- Must complete training program and competency assessments using OPI-approved training modules
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
