Job Summary

Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services provides donor eligibility assessment, manages donor adverse events, reviews laboratory test results, notifies donors of unsuitable results, and follows SOPs under Center Manager supervision and Center Physician medical guidance. Responsibilities include conducting medical history interviews, informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, physical examinations, blood testing interpretation, donor safety and transport to emergency care when needed, coordination with EHS and Medical Affairs, vaccination program support, and pandemic-coordination duties as authorized by EHS. The role requires regulatory familiarity with plasma collection, CPR/AED certification, and licensure as LPN/LVN with relevant state requirements; involves collaboration with Center Manager, Center Physician, and Medical Affairs.

Required Qualifications

  • Current license or certification as LPN or LVN in the state of responsibility
  • Two years' clinical or hospital experience
  • CPR and AED certification
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
