Job Summary

Deliver medical and nursing services to children and young adults in residential programs. Administer immunizations, TB serum, and all medications while ensuring accurate preparation and reconciliation. Provide client and staff education on infection control, hygiene, and medication compliance. Conduct physical and provisional mental health assessments, monitor clients per unit policies, and communicate status changes to physicians. Document client data for Department of Child Services Passports, audit charts, and update records. Participate in weekly interdisciplinary team meetings and complete mandatory training. Work the day shift on a rotating schedule from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Required Qualifications

  • Indiana nursing license as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
  • Valid Indiana driver's license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar's insurance carrier
  • Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
  • Favorably meet and maintain Damar's background screening
  • Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • One year of experience working with neuropsychiatric or behavioral challenges and/or individuals identifying with the DD/ID population preferred
  • Knowledge of current trends and research in the use of psychotropic medications with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
