Job Summary
Under direction of a Registered Nurse and practitioner, provide direct and indirect nursing care in an outpatient setting by reviewing medical records, administering medications and immunizations, and performing point-of-care testing. Document patient responses, manage vaccine inventory through the Hawaii Immunization Registry System, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and health plan guidelines. Collaborate with the RN to revise care plans, process referrals, and provide patient education while maintaining infection control protocols. Schedule patients for routine and acute care, stock supplies, and train new personnel on emergency procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Hawaii State Board of Nursing approved curriculum for LPN licensure
- Licensed Practical Nurse (Hawaii) required at hire
- Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
- Certification in Spirometry, Hearing Conservation, & Substance Abuse Specimen Collection or acquire certification within one year of hire
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in conflict resolution
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in customer service
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in interpersonal relations
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in oral communication
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in problem solving
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in teamwork
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in written communication
- Talking to co-workers, customers, outside vendors, and on the telephone
- Reading, writing, speaking and understanding English
- Training/giving and receiving instructions
- Mathematical ability
- Attention to detail (e.g., organization, prioritization, proofing)
- Concentration and alertness
Desired Qualifications
- Previous nursing experience
- Previous clinic experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing and spreadsheet PC applications
