Job Summary
Review and prepare medical records, initiate follow-ups, and identify patient needs to prepare orders for practitioner authorization. Administer treatments, immunizations, and medications as prescribed, while performing point-of-care testing and reporting laboratory and x-ray results. Document interventions and patient responses using department standards, collaborate with RNs to revise care plans, and manage all vaccine data including the Hawaii Immunization Registry System. Train staff on emergency procedures, maintain vaccine inventories, and ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines. Schedule patients for routine and acute care, process forms, and provide patient education on discharge plans and infection control protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Hawaii State Board of Nursing approved curriculum for LPN licensure
- Licensed Practical Nurse (Hawaii) required at hire
- Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
- Certification in Spirometry, Hearing Conservation, & Substance Abuse Specimen Collection or acquire certification within one year of hire
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in conflict resolution
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in customer service
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in interpersonal relations
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in oral communication
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in problem solving
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in teamwork
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in written communication
- Talking to co-workers, customers, outside vendors, and on the telephone
- Reading, writing, speaking and understanding English
- Training/giving and receiving instructions
- Mathematical ability
- Attention to detail (e.g., organization, prioritization, proofing)
- Concentration and alertness
Desired Qualifications
- Previous nursing experience
- Previous clinic experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing and spreadsheet PC applications
