Job Summary
Review medical records, initiate follow-ups, and prepare orders for practitioner authorization while administering treatments, immunizations, and medications as prescribed. Perform point-of-care testing, document findings on JCAHO-compliant forms, and collaborate with Registered Nurses to revise care plans based on patient responses. Manage all vaccine data by updating the Hawaii Immunization Registry, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with federal and state guidelines. Train staff on emergency storage procedures, process patient forms, and provide discharge instructions while adhering to infection control policies.
Required Qualifications
- Hawaii State Board of Nursing approved curriculum for LPN licensure
- Licensed Practical Nurse (Hawaii) required at hire
- Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
- Certification in Spirometry, Hearing Conservation, & Substance Abuse Specimen Collection or acquire certification within one year of hire
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in conflict resolution
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in customer service
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in interpersonal relations
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in oral communication
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in problem solving
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in teamwork
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in written communication
- Talking to co-workers, customers, outside vendors, and on the telephone
- Reading, writing, speaking and understanding English
- Training/giving and receiving instructions
- Mathematical ability
- Attention to detail (e.g., organization, prioritization, proofing)
- Concentration and alertness
Desired Qualifications
- Previous nursing experience
- Previous clinic experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing and spreadsheet PC applications
