Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care, including administration of medications, medical treatments, and documented procedures as per provincial regulations. Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care plans and treatments while developing and implementing individualized care plans. Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers of residents, ensuring appropriate clinical assessments such as Braden Scale and Morse Fall Risk are completed and followed up. Liaise with residents' families to update them on health status changes, medication adjustments, or personal care needs. Maintain good interpersonal relations with residents, guests, volunteers, and employees while operating all associated equipment safely. Shifts run from 0700-1500, 1500-2300, or 2300-0700 with an hourly rate of $32. Magnolia Gardens, a Bria Communities operator, fosters a vibrant seniors' community in Langley.
Required Qualifications
- Currently registered in good standing with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- Graduation from an accredited Practical Nurse Program
- Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience in long term care is preferred
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relations by displaying tact, courtesy and patience with residents, guests, volunteers and employees
- Respects and maintains the spirit, dignity and individuality of the residents
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision and possess solid critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Physically and mentally able to carry out the duties of the position under minimum supervision
- Leads and supports staff and volunteers to advance resident health and social goals
- Fluency in English both written and orally
- Safely and efficiently operate all equipment associated with the duties of the position
- Shifts: 0700-1500, 1500-2300, 2300-0700
