Job Summary
Provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse in the Cardiac Progressive Care unit. Utilize the nursing process to maintain professional accountability for assigned patients while coordinating care with other departments. Ensure patient rights and confidentiality are upheld consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Obtain and maintain a current LPN license and complete required certifications such as Basic Life Support and LPN-IV within specified timelines. Perform duties requiring the ability to lift 50 lbs, stand, and walk during 12-hour night shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse or LPN-Graduate Nurse Resident
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed
- Must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire
- Other unit specific certifications as required
- 12 Hour Nights (7:00pm - 7:30am)
