Job Summary
Direct day-to-day nursing care to residents while supervising nursing assistants, LPNs, and support staff in accordance with federal, state, and local standards. Manage and direct nursing activities for your assigned unit, including administering medications, performing procedures like catheterization and IVs, and completing rounds with physicians. Oversee personnel performance, handle admissions, transfers, and discharges, and ensure compliance with facility policies and infection control protocols. Maintain accurate charting, document incidents, and update care plans daily. Report discrepancies, occupational exposures, and emergency situations to the Director of Nursing or RN on call.
Required Qualifications
- Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved LPN/LVN program
- Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an LPN/LVN for the State of Wisconsin
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
