Job Summary
Administer methadone as prescribed by the Medical Director or Clinic Physician, ensuring medication accountability and observing patients post-administration. Evaluate and assess new and current patients for treatment appropriateness, collect urine specimens, and maintain accurate dosing records. Follow all physician orders, coordinate courtesy dose packages, and train new nurses while implementing quality health standards. Participate in weekly treatment team meetings, monthly trainings, and plan treatment center improvements to ensure accreditation compliance. Report medication discrepancies and work-related hazards to supervisors, maintaining supply inventories and staying updated on drug abuse trends.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed as LPN/LVN or RN in the state of employment
- CPR and First Aid certified
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work independently under pressure and handle multiple tasks
- Quick reaction capability
- Knowledge of dosing equipment, centrifuge, physical assessment tools, test strips, breathalyzers, and other medical equipment
- Basic knowledge and skill in using standard office equipment
- Meet attendance standards and be ready for work as scheduled
- Comply with all regulatory and accrediting agency requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred experience in chemical addiction
- Accurate data entry skills and basic computing knowledge
