Job Summary
Administer oral medications, hang IV piggybacks and fluids (excluding IV Push), and coordinate care by communicating with physicians and advanced practice providers. Perform clinical tasks including dressing changes, tracheal care, NG tube insertion and feedings, and ostomy care. Chart assessments and care plans on assigned patients after RNs complete initial evaluations. Reinforce education and discharge instructions for patients. When unit capacity is full, work with RNs to manage highest acuity patients or assist with heavy patient loads.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
- College Diploma: Licensed Practical Nurse (Required)
