Job Summary
Provide direct and indirect nursing care individualized to patients' needs under general supervision of the Nurse Manager. Collect and record relevant patient health data accurately, evaluate data to identify problems, and implement specified interventions. Perform procedures according to medical orders and nursing standards, while documenting care and reporting deviations from expected outcomes. Educate patients and families on the plan of care and advocate for patient autonomy, dignity, and rights. Adhere to New York State-defined LPN scope of practice and complete required unit credentialing. Participate in 4-8 hours of annual educational activity and perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a Practical Nursing program
- Current NYS licensure as a Practical Nurse or valid interim permit
- BLS certification within 6 months of hire
- Practices within the New York State-defined LPN scope of practice
