Job Summary
Administer medications, verify resident identities, and document drug effectiveness on MAR while maintaining up-to-date medical records. Assist with resident assessments, admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring accountability for controlled drugs and reporting supply or pharmaceutical needs. Perform clinical tasks within scope of practice, including dressing wounds, operating EKG and suctioning equipment, obtaining specimens, and performing venipuncture. Support CNAs to ensure care at the highest level while working closely with staff to promote an effective team environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized LPN or RN course of study approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
- License to practice nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina
- Must have valid and active North Carolina Driver's license
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs. without mechanical assistance
- Must be able to push residents that weigh up to 200 lbs. in a wheelchair
- Must be able to turn, bend, stoop and stretch in order to assist patients/residents
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
- The ability to understand, speak, read/write English and perform general math calculations (pill counts, etc.)
- Knowledge of duties within LPN scope of practice
- Able to value other staff and residents to promote a healthy team environment
