Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for orthopedic, stroke, and neurological conditions under RN supervision or state board license. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients while coordinating care with educators, respiratory therapists, and other department staff. Uphold patient rights and confidentiality of information throughout the shift. This 24-bed unit supports a multidisciplinary team including PT/OT and speech therapists. Candidates must obtain and maintain current LPN licensure and may receive NIH Stroke Certification. Physical duties include lifting 50 lbs, prolonged standing, and performing tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and squatting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri
