LPN 3 Cardiac Surgical - Full Time

Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse for pre- and post-operative cardiac surgery patients, cardiac dysrhythmias, vascular surgery patients, and general medical overflow. Coordinate patient care with educators, respiratory therapists, and other support staff while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Obtain and maintain a current LPN license within the hiring state and earn ACLS and BLS certifications within the required timeframe. Perform duties involving prolonged standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Join the Mercy Joplin MedSurg Service Line to care for patients preparing for or recovering from medical and surgical interventions.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- PEARS certification
- S.T.A.B.L.E. Six Assessment & Care Modules certification
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- LPN-IV Certification (previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri)
