Job Summary
Provide direct patient care for pre- and post-operative cardiac surgery patients, cardiac dysrhythmias, vascular surgery patients, and general medical overflow on a 24-bed unit. Work alongside educators, PCA/PCTs, case managers, respiratory therapists, and therapists to support the team. Maintain current LPN licensure and obtain ACLS, PALS, and other required certifications within the timeframe specified by the department. Perform duties requiring the ability to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs, with prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- PEARS certification
- S.T.A.B.L.E. certification
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- LPN-IV Certification (previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri)
