Job Summary

Lower Elementary Assistant Guide for the 2026–2027 school year at The Montessori School of Raleigh. Supports the Lead Guide in fostering a prepared, engaging Montessori Lower Elementary environment that encourages independence, collaboration, curiosity, and respect for each child’s development. Responsibilities include assisting with preparation and supervision of the classroom, implementing the established Lower Elementary Montessori scope and sequence under the direction of the Lead Guide, helping students develop independence and executive functioning skills, supervising classroom work cycles, transitions, outdoor time, meals, and enrichment periods, collaborating with teachers and specialists to support academic, social, and emotional development, supporting data collection and assessments, contributing to a data-informed classroom culture, participating in professional development on Montessori principles and instructional practices, and communicating with families through school-sanctioned channels. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, Montessori credentials preferred, minimum two years elementary teaching experience, and a commitment to inclusive, student-centered education. The position is in-person at the MSR Campus in Raleigh, NC, 10-month faculty schedule, with duties including occasional evening events and summer program participation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Montessori credentials preferred (AMI, AMS, or MACTE) with Lower Elementary training preferred
  • Minimum two years teaching experience at the elementary level
