Job Summary
Assemble aluminum boats and sub-assemblies by positioning parts according to blueprints, fastening components with bolts and rivets, and using jigs or gluing methods. Operate drill presses, punch presses, and air tools to assist assembly, while installing seats, consoles, cables, and graphics. Remove small metal quantities with hand files and shears to ensure close fits and follow quality systems procedures. This 10-hour shift requires standing, bending, and lifting parts up to 50 lbs in a non-air conditioned area with exposure to noise and dust. PPE including hearing protection, safety toe shoes, and gloves is required. Required Qualifications
- Self starter
- Team player
- Good safety awareness
- Ability to stand, bend and twist for a 10-hour shift
- Knowledge of unit being assembled or ability to follow blueprints
- Ability to fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners
- Ability to use jigs and glue
- Ability to remove small quantities of metal with hand files and shears
- Ability to operate drill presses, punch presses, air tools or riveting machines
- Ability to install seats, bases, pedestals, consoles, cables, controls, graphics, etc.
- Ability to follow quality systems procedures
- Ability to work in a non-air conditioned area
- Ability to work at heights on platforms
- Ability to lift parts and pieces up to 50 lbs
- Ability to wear hearing protection, vision protection, safety toe shoes, safety gloves
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Previous experience in boat assembly
