Job Summary
Perform pre and post trips on lowbed tractor daily, driving the vehicle to and from specified destinations to transport oversize and heavy equipment. Prepare trailers for pickups, load and unload heavy equipment at job sites, and position blocks to secure cargo during transit per federal guidelines. Maintain truck logs according to state and federal regulations, inspect vehicle equipment including tires and brakes, and communicate with dispatchers for pickup and delivery instructions. Adhere to OSHA/MSHA safety policies and company standards while meeting physical requirements for lifting up to 85 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution
- CDL A
- Clean driving record
- 1 year of experience driving a lowbed truck with capacity of more than 3 tons to transport oversize and heavy equipment to and from specified destinations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
Desired Qualifications
- 3 years of experience driving a lowbed truck with capacity of more than 3 tons to transport oversize and heavy equipment to and from specified destinations
- TWIC
- OSHA or other relevant safety training
