Job Summary
Install low voltage cabling in existing buildings, service audio/video, security, and phone systems, and manage work orders and punch lists. Review project designs prior to installation, independently troubleshoot equipment operation problems, and interact with customers, builders, and trades professionally. Provide ongoing support for existing clients while occasionally traveling overnight for out-of-town jobs in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Lift up to 70 lbs, operate power tools, and work safely in attics and crawlspaces. Earn $18–$30/hr with health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plans. Company-paid training applies toward MN Power Limited Technician License requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Positive attitude and good work ethic
- Good troubleshooting skills and ability to learn and use new skills successfully
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Work well with others including teammates, supervisors, customers, inspectors and other trades
- Lift up to 70lbs, and install heavy equipment on walls and ceilings
- Ability to work safely on ladders and lifts
- Ability to operate a variety of power tools and equipment
- Ability to work in difficult environments including attics and crawlspaces
- Attend training
- Have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Must pass criminal background check
- A Minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required
- Occasional out of town and overnight stays are required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience preferred but not required in the installation of residential or commercial low-voltage systems such as access control systems, network equipment, Audio Video equipment, security systems, telecom systems, CCTV, etc.
- Experience installing, fixing, maintaining equipment in commercial and residential buildings is preferred but not required
- Strong understanding of commercial and residential construction and framing are preferred
