Job Summary
Install and terminate copper and fiber optic cabling for data networks, security systems, and ISP backbones. Perform cable testing using specialized equipment to ensure optimal signal quality. Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions. Install and configure low-voltage equipment such as access control panels, cameras, network switches, and audio/video devices. Document installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities accurately while adhering to all safety protocols. Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship, with base pay ranging from $25.00 to $40.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Low Voltage Technician or related field
- Proven ability to terminate and test copper and fiber optic cabling
- Strong understanding of low-voltage systems and principles
- Solid carpentry skills for mounting equipment and running cable paths
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be detail-oriented and quality-driven
- Ability to lift heavy network equipment
- Ability to perform work on a ladder
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
- Ability to carry and transport up to 60 pounds for short distances (up to 20 feet)
- Role requires periods of standing and moving, including stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and pulling
- Work may take place in varied environments that can be cold, hot, noisy, or wet, and may include exposure to odors or fumes
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with network cabling, security systems, and audio/video systems is a plus
