Job Summary
Install and repair telematics systems and devices on vehicles and equipment at EquipmentShare rental yards and client sites. Travel within the region for installations, test operations, and onsite support. Operate testing during installations, handle basic to complex wiring harness work accessing CAN networks, and ensure communication between telematics hardware and systems. Serve as a brand ambassador on-site, be prepared for occasional after-hours work, and comply with safety and background-check requirements. The role includes training provided; prior telematics experience is not required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with trade-school certification preferred, and a willingness to travel up to 250 miles from the local branch. Must be able to lift 25 lb+, drive, and pass a drug screen. This is a safety-sensitive position with overtime and on-call compensation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Trade School Certificate preferred)
- Proficient with iphone/ mobile phone technology and basic computer navigation
- Mechanical aptitude, good with your hands and with tools
- Experience in a related field, e.g., electrician, HVAC tech, car audio installer, etc
- Mobile Electronics Installer
- Automotive Electronics Technician
- 12V Technician
- Prior experience in the telematics industry is not necessary; we will train you
- Own tools; a few specialty tools will be provided
- Hard worker with excellent attention to detail
- Clean driving record and be able to pass a background check
- Must be open to traveling within a 250 mile radius of our local branch for up to a week at a time
- Must be able to drive, maneuver in tight spaces, bend, squat, walk long distances and lift more than 25 lb
- Telematics Installers may be required to be clean shaven in order to enter worksites for EquipmentShare customers who have this requirement
