Job Summary
Review turnkey quotes for low voltage systems to ensure scope accuracy and competitive pricing, then read and interpret plans to create detailed takeoffs using Bluebeam or on-screen software. Communicate with vendors to clarify discrepancies, enter precise data into estimating software, and analyze labor requirements based on historical data. Lead the estimation process for projects ranging from $250,000 to $3 million, complete bid forms and pre-bid RFIs, and conduct post-bid follow-ups to negotiate scope and pricing with clients. Maintain an active contact list of general contractors and stakeholders while attending job start-up meetings to finalize budgets. Stay up to date with industry innovations and update the estimating database to reflect current conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two years of experience in low voltage systems estimating
- Background in low voltage construction, including equipment specifications and competitive bidding
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage large volumes of work efficiently while maintaining accuracy
- Analytical and problem-solving skills for complex project estimates
- Proficiency in computer applications, including estimating and takeoff software
