Job Summary
Technical Support Specialist for Low Voltage Drive systems responsible for assisting internal and external customers with complex technical support cases, ensuring timely, cost-effective support in line with standard processes. Requires electrical/automation expertise (VFDs, PLCs), strong communication to convey urgency and ownership, and ability to document outcomes and report to account teams. Role is hybrid with travel up to 15% within Canada, USA, and Europe; bilingual French/English proficiency required. Emphasis on customer satisfaction, identifying opportunities for improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive first-time-right resolutions. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and, ideally, Microsoft Power Platform is an asset, with experience in factory automation and industrial networking (fieldbus). The role supports ABB Motion Drive Products and involves preparing customer reports and using global end-to-end processes.
Required Qualifications
- Electrical engineering degree or electronic college degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in AC & DC Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
- Good factory automation and electrification best practice knowledge
- Good industrial fieldbus communication protocol knowledge
- High customer focus
- Teamwork oriented and demonstrate high level of initiative, problem solving, information seeking and eager to learn
- Good sense of urgency and ownership
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Microsoft Power platform knowledge an asset
- Availability to travel up to 15% of the time within Canada, USA & Europe
- Proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written. French is required. English is also necessary for regular communication with customers outside Quebec.
