Job Summary
Low Voltage Cable Technician role in Panama City, FL requiring high school diploma/equivalency, Florida JLA badge eligibility, and 2+ years in tech/construction related to structured cabling, security, access control, CCTV, A/V, paging, nurse call and related systems. Responsibilities include installing and terminating low voltage cabling and devices (card readers, intercoms, motion detectors, nurse call lights, patient stations), reading prints, following directions from Site Superintendent/PM, ensuring compliance with AHJ codes, safety practices, and coordinating with team. Travel up to 50% and ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders/scaffolding, and work in varied environments. Regular & weekend shifts expected; pre-qualification questionnaire may be used in interviewing.
Required Qualifications
- Educational Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent
- Certification: Ability to obtain a Florida State JLA (Jessica Lunsford Act) Badge
- Experience Requirements: 2+ years in a Tech Role
- 2+ years’ experience in the commercial building construction industry related to: Structured Cabling, Security, Access Control, CCTV, A/V, Paging. Nurse Call, Sound Masking
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have own hand tools
- Must be willing to travel up to 50%
- Must be able to stand, kneel and crouch for long periods of time
- Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding
- Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds
- Must be able to work in high places and in confined places
- Work sites vary from finished space interiors to new construction sites
- Some jobs may require weekend shifts
- A written knowledge Pre-Questionnaire may be part of the interview process
