Job Summary
Low Voltage Apprentice responsible for installing, repairing, or replacing electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic components, and related parts per NEC/CEC requirements. Duties include working with generators, industrial storage batteries, electrical panels, conduits, and lighting; reading blueprints/schematics and floating between field and facility settings. Requires reading and interpreting drawings, maintaining safety standards (OSHA), and staying current with industry regulations. Must communicate clearly, work well in a team, enroll in the FEAT program, and pursue Florida JLA certification; ability to pass drug screening and withstand variable schedules/travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Apprenticeship training preferred
- Ability to obtain Florida State JLA Badge
- Detailed knowledge of electrical codes and standards
- Must enroll in the FEAT program
- Ability to read, interpret electrical schematics/diagrams/blueprints
- Ability to use basic hand/tools
- Ability to read, speak and understand English
- Knowledge of OSHA Safe working practices
- Clean background and ability to pass drug screening
- Willingness to work flexible schedule
- Ability to climb ladders
- Own transportation
