Job Summary
Perform routine and emergency service on Freon refrigeration equipment for industrial accounts ranging from 100 to 5,000 hp, including inspections, preventative maintenance, and electrical troubleshooting on ammonia central systems. Diagnose and repair screw and reciprocal compressors, control, and alarm systems across food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and cold storage facilities. Mentor apprentices, maintain truck inventory, and complete all required paperwork while adhering to OSHA, EPA PSM, and RMP regulations. Evaluate customer needs for retrofits and upgrades, provide cost summaries for billing, and respond to customer inquiries. Requires 5 years of industrial refrigeration experience, valid driver's license, and availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial refrigeration/HVAC/R experience
- Working knowledge of reciprocating, screw compressors, and common types of industrial refrigeration and/or gas compression
- Working knowledge of single and 2 stage systems, various types of liquid overfeed systems
- Familiar with CPR, HPR, pumper drum, and dump tank feed system
- Electrical troubleshooting, starters, contacts, VFD's and PLC control systems
- Installation and replacement of compressors, motors, and pumps
- Intermediate computer skills specific to Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to wear a respirator and pass a fit test
- Motor alignment experience
- Ability to effectively manage time and complete delegated work within specified time frames
- Ability to read and interpret OSHA, EPA PSM, and RMP regulations
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy
- Ability and willingness to follow oral and written directions
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical tests
- Must be available to be on stand-by or work during evenings, weekends, and holidays when required
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean MVR
- OSHA-10 certification (if not currently certified, must be obtained within six (6) months from date of hire)
- Universal EPA certification required
Desired Qualifications
- RETA 1&2 certification preferred
- CARO and CIRO certification preferred
