Job Summary
Mid-Level Low-Code Application Developer for the Missile Defense Agency in Huntsville, AL. Role focuses on developing, enhancing, and modernizing enterprise applications (business, contracting, acquisition, financial management, and operational workflows) using Appian, SharePoint, SQL Server, Power BI, and related technologies. Responsibilities include building web-based solutions, data validation, automation scripting with PowerShell, designing dashboards and reports, supporting Agile development processes, and coordinating with project managers, technical teams, and government stakeholders. The position is on-site/hybrid in Huntsville, and requires active Secret clearance; education and 3 years of relevant experience are expected, with additional preference for DoD/federal-contracting experience and Appian development credentials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- 3 years of software development, systems modernization, or related technical experience
- Experience with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, AJAX
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL queries, database design, and stored procedures
- Familiarity with SharePoint customization, web parts, lists, libraries, workflows
- Experience with Appian or other low-code/no-code enterprise application platform
- PowerShell scripting for automation
- Power BI dashboards/reports/visualizations
- Familiarity with Git, Visual Studio/VS Code, Postman, Jira, Microsoft Teams
- Ability to work independently and in fast-paced, mission-focused environments
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- Experience in or with DoD, federal government, or federal contractor environments (desired)
- Appian development experience, training, or certification (desired)
- Migration of legacy apps to modern platforms (desired)
- Experience supporting Agile software development teams (desired)
- Security clearance eligibility or maintenance requirements (implicit in Active Secret)
