Job Summary
Check in vendors, stock shelves, and rotate inventory while maintaining storage room upkeep and interior/exterior maintenance. Handle customer complaints, screen phone calls, and verify customer identification for alcohol purchases. Greet guests, provide suggestive selling, and assist with disruptive customer situations by documenting incidents. Clean register areas, restrooms, and floors; sweep parking lots, remove snow, and manage trash disposal. Order liquor and supplies, report personnel issues, and follow safety guidelines including PPE use and fire extinguisher operation.
Required Qualifications
- ability to properly document incidents on an incident report
- check identification of customers to verify age requirement of purchase of alcohol
- have knowledge of product offers
- help customers find the right products
- advise the manager of any personnel situations or policy violations having an adverse effect on liquor store operating performance
- communicate with the manager on products that need to be ordered
- order or requisition liquors and supplies
- follow safety guidelines
- use PPE (personal protective equipment) according to guidelines
- use a ladder
- shovel snow sweep parking lots and sidewalks
- understand how to use a fire extinguisher and other safety equipment
