Job Summary
Mix ingredients including liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other beverages according to standard recipes. Serve wine and draught or bottled beer to lounge guests, collect payment, and process transactions accurately. Order and requisition liquors and bar supplies to maintain adequate stock levels, arrange bottled goods and glassware to create an attractive and organized bar display, and slice and pit fruit for drink garnishes. Prepare bar snacks and appetizers such as pickles, cheese, and cold meats as needed. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations governing beverage service. This part-time role at the Renaissance Asheville in downtown Asheville requires flexibility to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays, with specific shift details discussed during the interview.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of cocktail preparation, wine, and beer service; ability to follow standard recipes with consistency
- Basic math skills to total costs, process transactions, and make accurate change
- Ability to provide guests with knowledgeable information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions
- Physical stamina to stand or walk for extended periods throughout a shift
- Manual dexterity to handle glassware, dishes, money, and bar merchandise quickly and accurately
- Ability to lift and carry heavy trays and bar supplies as needed
- Flexibility to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays
