Job Summary
Conduct daily safety walk-throughs, shovel snow, and salt walkways before employees arrive. Perform gate checks to verify pre-trip inspections and DVIR accuracy, then assist with morning and afternoon roll-outs to prevent side swipe and tail swing accidents. Monitor driver behavior for speeding and PPE compliance, providing real-time coaching while documenting near misses and lot damage. Maintain "Ready-to-Roll" status by ensuring fire equipment, triangles, and registration cards are current, and keep the lot clear of debris to optimize traffic flow. Support dispatch with administrative tasks during downtime and assist with bus washing to enhance the company image. Requires a Class B license, DOT/RESA cards, and 2+ years of school bus experience.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class B (or higher) with appropriate endorsements (P & S)
- Valid DOT, and RESA cards
- Minimum 2 years of school bus or commercial driving experience
- Clean driver record with no preventable collisions or moving violations in past three (3) years
- Must meet the physical requirements of the job, walking, kneeling, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50lbs
- Must demonstrate flexibility and availability based on operational and training demands
- Availability of 4 hrs per day (20 hrs/week) Lot Supervisor
- Availability Route Driver 3 hrs per day (15 hrs/week)
- Availability Monday through Friday
- Potential availability on weekends based on operational and training needs
- Availability during peak periods, including summer and the Holiday season
