Job Summary
Patrol all property areas including outside parking lots on a regular basis and search for, handle, and report unusual circumstances such as theft, suspicious persons, or safety violations. Respond immediately to emergency alarms or calls for help, investigate security incidents, and enforce the 'No Solicitation Policy' while ensuring guest and employee safety. Document a concise security report on a daily log and complete necessary forms for property loss or personal injury. Maintain familiarity with all hotel disaster and emergency policies, perform first aid and CPR as needed, and escort undesirable persons off property if necessary. Work inside 85% of shifts in the Denver Tech Center hotel, with availability for AM/PM, overnight, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent experience
- Minimum two years prior experience in loss prevention
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Good communication skills
- Ability to recognize drug and alcohol abuse
- Ability to communicate through a portable radio
- May require a second language
- Excellent hearing
- Excellent vision
- Excellent speech communication skills
- Excellent comprehension and literacy
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry people or equipment in emergency situations
- Must be able to bend and kneel
- Must be mobile 100% of the time
- Must be able to stand continuously
- Must be able to use stairs (no elevators)
- Must be available for AM/PM/Overnight/weekends/holidays shifts
- Must be able to respond to emergency alarms or calls for help
- Must be able to determine course of action during emergencies
- Must be able to notify appropriate authorities during emergencies
- Must be able to perform first aid and CPR as needed
- Must be able to conduct investigations of security incidents
- Must be able to enforce the 'No Solicitation Policy' of the property
