Job Summary
Utilize surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and monitoring tools to observe and identify suspicious activities, potential theft, or fraudulent behavior within the facility. Provide excellent service while maintaining a visible presence in designated areas, assisting employees with inquiries and deterring theft through initiative-taking engagement. Investigate incidents of theft, fraud, or security breaches by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, reviewing footage, and collaborating with law enforcement to apprehend suspects and recover merchandise. Educate staff on loss prevention techniques and security procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations. Prepare detailed reports documenting incidents, investigations, and findings, including witness statements and outcomes. Work closely with management and security personnel to coordinate efforts and develop strategies for preventing criminal activities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- 2+ years' experience in loss prevention, security, or law enforcement
- Knowledge of security systems, surveillance techniques, and investigative procedures
- Strong observational skills and diligence
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage confrontational situations professionally
- Understanding of legal regulations and ethical standards related to loss prevention and security
- Proficiency in report writing and documentation
