Loss Control Consultant

Job Summary

Conduct commercial insurance loss control inspections by driving to insured locations, taking photos, measuring facilities, and identifying potential hazards. Record onsite observations, determine building construction types, and coordinate inspection meetings with representatives. Prepare and upload insurance underwriting reports, diagrams, and findings via the company website according to daily or weekly assignments. Complete all reporting tasks by due dates while communicating regularly with the Field Manager to optimize efficiency. Requires a valid driver's license, ability to climb ladders, and experience with commercial insurance lines.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with other Loss Control Service Providers or Major Insurance Carriers
  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial insurance lines - primarily Property, General Liability and Inland Marine
  • Ability to identify building construction and ISO classes
  • Broad understanding of NFPA codes
  • Solid communication and time management skills
  • Exceptional writing ability, organizational skills and computer skills
  • Ability to work from home with a PC, high-speed internet connection and a cell/smart phone
  • An automobile and valid driver's license, with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to climb a ladder up to 6 feet
  • Digital camera or smart phone with picture capability
  • Measuring wheel, or similar tool, and camera pole
