Job Summary
Conduct commercial insurance loss control inspections by driving to insured locations, taking photos, measuring structures, and visually observing facilities to identify hazards and construction types. Coordinate onsite meetings with representatives, record observations, and prepare detailed underwriting reports via the company website. Complete assignments and upload diagrams according to carrier-specific requirements and due dates. Communicate regularly with the Field Manager to optimize efficiency and manage time effectively. Perform this work independently with a vehicle, digital camera, and measuring tools, traveling to various locations including potential overnight trips.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with other Loss Control Service Providers or Major Insurance Carriers
- Comprehensive understanding of commercial insurance lines - primarily Property, General Liability and Inland Marine
- Ability to identify building construction and ISO classes
- Broad understanding of NFPA codes
- Solid communication and time management skills
- Exceptional writing ability, organizational skills and computer skills
- Ability to work from home with a PC, high-speed internet connection and a cell/smart phone
- An automobile and valid driver's license, with acceptable driving record
- Ability to climb a ladder up to 6 feet
- Digital camera or smart phone with picture capability
- Measuring wheel, or similar tool, and camera pole
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
