Job Summary
Conduct commercial insurance loss control inspections by driving to insured locations, taking photos, and measuring building features while identifying potential hazards. Document onsite observations, construction types, and square footage in accordance with carrier-specific requirements. Coordinate inspection meetings with insured representatives and prepare detailed underwriting reports with diagrams via our online portal. Submit findings and photos timely to ensure assignments are completed according to due dates. Travel to locations may include overnight trips.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with other Loss Control Service Providers or Major Insurance Carriers
- Comprehensive understanding of commercial insurance lines - primarily Property, General Liability and Inland Marine
- Ability to identify building construction and ISO classes
- Broad understanding of NFPA codes
- Solid communication and time management skills
- Exceptional writing ability, organizational skills and computer skills
- Ability to work from home with a PC, high-speed internet connection and a cell/smart phone
- An automobile and valid driver's license, with acceptable driving record
- Ability to climb a ladder up to 6 feet
- Digital camera or smart phone with picture capability
- Measuring wheel, or similar tool, and camera pole
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
