Job Summary
Conduct commercial insurance loss control inspections by driving to insured locations, taking photos, measuring structures, and visually observing facilities to identify hazards and construction types. Coordinate onsite meetings with representatives, record observations, and prepare diagrams before documenting findings in underwriting reports via our website. Complete assignments and reviews according to carrier-specific requirements and due dates while communicating regularly with the Field Manager to optimize efficiency. Perform overnight travel as needed and utilize tools such as measuring wheels and camera poles. Compensation is per assignment starting at $110.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with other Loss Control Service Providers or Major Insurance Carriers
- Comprehensive understanding of commercial insurance lines - primarily Property, General Liability and Inland Marine
- Ability to identify building construction and ISO classes
- Broad understanding of NFPA codes
- Solid communication and time management skills
- Exceptional writing ability, organizational skills and computer skills
- Ability to work from home with a PC, high-speed internet connection and a cell/smart phone
- An automobile and valid driver's license, with acceptable driving record
- Ability to climb a ladder up to 6 feet
- Digital camera or smart phone with picture capability
- Measuring wheel, or similar tool, and camera pole
