Loss Control Consultant

Job Summary

Conduct commercial insurance loss control inspections by driving to insured locations, taking photos, and visually observing facilities to identify hazards and determine insurance exposures. Record onsite observations, measurements, and photos in accordance with carrier-specific requirements, then prepare and upload inspection results, diagrams, and reports via our website. Coordinate onsite meetings with insured representatives and communicate regularly with the Field Manager to complete assignments efficiently. Work on a daily or weekly basis with some overnight travel required, utilizing a measuring wheel, camera pole, and digital camera to document findings.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with other Loss Control Service Providers or Major Insurance Carriers
  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial insurance lines - primarily Property, General Liability and Inland Marine
  • Ability to identify building construction and ISO classes
  • Broad understanding of NFPA codes
  • Solid communication and time management skills
  • Exceptional writing ability, organizational skills and computer skills
  • Ability to work from home with a PC, high-speed internet connection and a cell/smart phone
  • An automobile and valid driver's license, with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to climb a ladder up to 6 feet
  • Digital camera or smart phone with picture capability
  • Measuring wheel, or similar tool, and camera pole
