Job Summary
Conduct commercial insurance loss control inspections by driving to insured locations, taking photos, measuring structures, and observing interior and exterior facilities to identify hazards and construction types. Record onsite observations, determine insurance exposures, and coordinate meeting times with insured representatives. Prepare and upload detailed underwriting reports, diagrams, and findings to the company website according to carrier-specific requirements and due dates. Complete assignments on a daily or weekly basis with pay starting at $110 per report, requiring a valid driver's license, ability to climb ladders, and proficiency with digital cameras and measuring tools.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with other Loss Control Service Providers or Major Insurance Carriers
- Comprehensive understanding of commercial insurance lines - primarily Property, General Liability and Inland Marine
- Ability to identify building construction and ISO classes
- Broad understanding of NFPA codes
- Solid communication and time management skills
- Exceptional writing ability, organizational skills and computer skills
- Ability to work from home with a PC, high-speed internet connection and a cell/smart phone
- An automobile and valid driver's license, with acceptable driving record
- Ability to climb a ladder up to 6 feet
- Digital camera or smart phone with picture capability
- Measuring wheel, or similar tool, and camera pole
