Job Summary
Conduct commercial insurance loss control inspections by driving to insured locations, taking photos, and visually observing facility interiors and exteriors. Record onsite observations, measurements, and photos while identifying building construction types, square footage, and potential hazards. Coordinate inspection meetings with insured representatives and prepare detailed underwriting reports via the company website. Submit findings, diagrams, and photos according to carrier-specific requirements and due dates. Complete assignments on a daily or weekly basis with some overnight travel possible. Requires a valid driver's license, automobile, and ability to climb ladders up to six feet.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with other Loss Control Service Providers or Major Insurance Carriers
- Comprehensive understanding of commercial insurance lines - primarily Property, General Liability and Inland Marine
- Ability to identify building construction and ISO classes
- Broad understanding of NFPA codes
- Solid communication and time management skills
- Exceptional writing ability, organizational skills and computer skills
- Ability to work from home with a PC, high-speed internet connection and a cell/smart phone
- An automobile and valid driver's license, with acceptable driving record
- Ability to climb a ladder up to 6 feet
- Digital camera or smart phone with picture capability
- Measuring wheel, or similar tool, and camera pole
