Job Summary
Conduct commercial insurance loss control inspections by driving to locations, taking photos, and visually observing facility interiors and exteriors to determine insurance exposures and identify improvements. Record onsite observations, measure structures, and note building construction types and potential hazards in accordance with carrier-specific requirements. Coordinate inspection meetings with insured representatives, prepare diagrams, and document findings in underwriting reports via the company website. Complete assignments and reports timely according to due dates while communicating regularly with the Field Manager to optimize efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with other Loss Control Service Providers or Major Insurance Carriers
- Comprehensive understanding of commercial insurance lines - primarily Property, General Liability and Inland Marine
- Ability to identify building construction and ISO classes
- Broad understanding of NFPA codes
- Solid communication and time management skills
- Exceptional writing ability, organizational skills and computer skills
- Ability to work from home with a PC, high-speed internet connection and a cell/smart phone
- An automobile and valid driver's license, with acceptable driving record
- Ability to climb a ladder up to 6 feet
- Digital camera or smart phone with picture capability
- Measuring wheel, or similar tool, and camera pole
