Job Summary

Loss Control Associate supports the Loss Control Manager and engages with agents and insureds to communicate the value of the Loss Control Department. Collaborates with business partners and underwriters to optimize service delivery, respond to property and liability assessments, and guide risk understanding and class fit. Responsibilities include assisting LC Manager and team members as the voice of LC to internal and external stakeholders, meeting account-level service goals, fostering relationships with underwriters, processing requests promptly, managing internal communications, and utilizing Loss Control software. Responsibilities also encompass identifying basic risk characteristics, surveying customer needs and loss trends, conducting self-surveys and valuations, staying current with technical topics, delivering a positive customer experience, providing input on Loss Control recommendations and compliance, and performing special projects as needed. Travel up to ~80% for field-based work and occasional overnight travel in the New England states. The role offers base salary with incentive compensation and benefits eligible; actual salary determined by experience, skills, qualifications, and geography.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or other appropriate discipline, or previous experience in the property & casualty industry
  • 1+ year experience in safety, risk control, or related insurance fields including but not limited to construction, liability, hazards and mitigation of loss
  • Recognized relevant certifications (AINS, ASP, CSP, ARM) or ability to attain certifications to meet specific state requirements were applicable
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking and influencing skills
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment
  • Preferred experience in an Automated Loss Control system such as Loss Control 360
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Strong preference for experience with Commercial UW/Loss Control
  • Strong preference for experience with property valuation tools such as Commercial Valuation.
