Provide substitute instruction in Special Education aligned with the Iowa Teaching Standards, delivering instruction that meets the multiple learning needs of students, maintaining a reliable attendance record, and collaborating with stakeholders. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and BOEE licensure, with knowledge of 504, federal privacy rights, and best practices in special education to support student learning in the designated grade levels.
Required Qualifications
- Earned Bachelor’s Degree or Board of Educational Examiners approved alternative
- Certification/Licensure: Appropriate BOEE licensure
- Experience teaching preferred
- Knowledge of the Iowa Teaching Standards
- Knowledge of special education and section 504
- Knowledge of Federal Rights and Privacy Act and other civil rights regulations
- Ability to deliver instruction that meets diverse learning needs
- Attendance and reliability
- Ability to establish effective relationships with stakeholders
- Proficiency with office equipment (computers, phones, copier, etc.)
