Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements while preparing accommodations for diverse learning styles. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement and analyze results to plan instructional activities. Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula according to Individual Education Plans. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and supervise assigned teacher aides. Establish open communication with parents, students, and staff while assisting in the selection of instructional materials. Compile and maintain all required physical and computerized reports, records, and documents. Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and participate in faculty meetings and staff committees.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
- At least one year of student teaching or an approved internship
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct and supervise student athletes
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
