Job Summary
Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Kindergarten in Rosemont School. Responsible for delivering instruction, maintaining curriculum continuity, developing and delivering lesson plans, managing a safe and positive classroom environment, assessing student work, collaborating with administrators and staff, and fulfilling administrative duties during an extended absence. Requires Bachelor's degree and Illinois teaching licensure/ELS authorization; background checks and health clearances required. Compensation noted as daily rates ($150 for days 1-20; $170 for days 21+), with temporary full-time status during the assignment period. Strong emphasis on classroom management, use of educational technology, instruction tailored to diverse learners, and effective communication with students, families, and colleagues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) OR Illinois Substitute Teaching License (SUB)
- Current Illinois Educator License for Substitutes (ELS) authorization from Regional Office of Education
- Experience and Skills: Previous classroom teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred
- Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning platforms
- Background Requirements: Background check and fingerprinting, TB health screening within past 4 years, Good Health statement within 90 days of employment
- Preferred Qualifications: Elementary education background or endorsement, Bilingual capabilities (Spanish/English preferred), Experience in long-term substitute assignments
