Job Summary
Deliver general education instruction and reinforce positive behavior support plans for special education students receiving individualized services. Collaborate daily with general education teachers, special education staff, and families to implement IEPs, accommodations, and modifications while maintaining predictable routines. Facilitate student access to grade-level curriculum, supervise activities during transitions and school-wide events, and utilize evidence-based strategies including de-escalation techniques and visual supports. Respond appropriately to behavioral crises using district-approved procedures and collect academic and behavioral data to monitor progress. Maintain confidentiality, execute emergency protocols, and complete required training such as CPI. Ensure federal compliance with IEPs and support the safety, engagement, and educational progress of the student.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Iowa teaching license
- Valid substitute teaching license
- Must possess a valid Iowa; teaching license or valid substitute teaching license
