Job Summary
Implement the eight Iowa Teaching Standards and 42 criteria while delivering instruction that meets the multiple learning needs of students in UCSD classrooms. Monitor student learning using varied methods and manage the classroom effectively to enhance academic performance. Maintain a reliable attendance record and demonstrate competence in content knowledge appropriate to the substitute teaching position. Perform other duties as assigned, including occasional meetings outside the school day. This role supports personalized learning for early childhood special education students during the August–October 2026 term.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated application of effective instruction, meeting student needs relative to district benchmarks and standards.
- Knowledge of the developmental characteristics of students at the designated grade level.
- Knowledge of the Iowa Teaching Standards.
- Knowledge of special education and section 504.
- Knowledge of Federal Rights and Privacy Act and other civil rights regulations.
- Ability to organize and think clearly while communicating, organizing, and evaluating.
- Earned Bachelor's Degree or Board of Educational Examiners approved alternative.
- Appropriate BOEE licensure.
- Ability to work while standing, moving and/or walking.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle used to travel between sites.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience teaching preferred.
