Job Summary
Long Term Substitute Special Education Teacher responsible for planning and curriculum development, teaching per board-approved curriculum, developing and maintaining lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to individual needs, setting objectives, planning engaging age-appropriate activities, collaborating with staff, incorporating IEP requirements, staying current in subject matter knowledge, contributing to curriculum revision, and using differentiated instructional techniques to meet diverse student needs; promotes active learning, creates a conducive classroom environment, utilizes assessments to monitor progress, maintains confidentiality, communicates with parents, participates in school planning, and adheres to district policies; proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel, Google Suite, Frontline, and Genesis SIS; requires NJ instructional certificate and ability to pass background checks in compliance with state law.
Required Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate.
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities.
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Able to pass the criminal history review and S414.
